Date Night Delight

By Melody Burson

At least once a week since this pandemic upended our world, my husband and I have been supporting restaurants in the area that are still open. We’ve had some excellent take-out meals from Il Lucano Ristorante Italiano, The Gourmet Burger Shop, and Easy Thai Easy Go, but one of the more memorial meals was from Table 47.  Their “Date Night Delight” package was delicious, plentiful, and a darn good value considering what’s included; one salad to share, two entrees (usually about $25 each and enough that we made a second meal out of the leftovers), a bottle of red or white wine, two cupcakes, and two votive candles in glass holders. All for $65.

We chose to share the Farmhouse Salad: roasted red peppers, farm greens, toasted almonds, pickled red onion, goat cheese, dressed in a roasted shallot vinaigrette. My entrée was Braised Short Rib with cauliflower potato puree, roasted root vegetables, with a smoked blue cheese pudding, and hubby’s entrée was Seared Coho Salmon with cauliflower potato puree, roasted asparagus, heirloom tomatoes and Kalamata olives. We chose a red wine they chose a Merf (named for winemaker David “Merf” Merfeld) Columbia Valley 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon.

Their other entrees choices are a chimichurri steak, vegan cassoulet, and several kinds of pizzas and burgers. You can also order ala carte off the regular menu that has a nice choice of appetizers, and they have three choices of family-style meals. I’m hoping they keep this Date Night take out special after their restaurant re-opens for dine-in patrons.

By the way, those glass candle holders can be used as shot glasses afterwards.
